SUBMERSIBLE AQUARIUM PUMPS
If you’re looking to put a water pump under water, then you need a submersible pump. Find the submersible aquarium pump you need here.
A submersible fish tank pump has many uses. Many aquarists prefer a submersible fish tank water pump to use as a return pump. A submersible fish pump is easier to place in the aquarium sump than to hard plumb a sump. A submersible pump also makes a great fish tank filter pump for a media reactor, or as a feed pump for a chiller or UV sterilizer. Most aquarists use flexible tubing and hose barbs with a submersible pump.
An aquarium water pump will be rated in flow (gph), head pressure, and watts. Most submersible aquarium pumps are low pressure, designed to push water without much restriction. The more restriction you add via vertical height or elbows, the lower the flow. Also, watch the watts because submersible pumps transfer heat into the fish tank.
